Terry Schoonover (Terrance L. Schoonover) (December 26, 1951 - November 11, 1984) was a racecar driver. He was born in New Lebanon, Ohio.
He made his Winston Cup debut at Rockingham Speedway in 1984, driving his own #42 Chevrolet home to a 21st place finish.[1] The next race, at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Schoonover was driving when on lap 129, he spun and struck a dirt bank on the back straightaway of the track.[2] Schoonover did not survive the accident. He was 32 years old. His death marked the first fatality at the Atlanta track's existence.[3]
